Food & Drink

Amongst the fun and entertainment of our VE Day 75th Anniversary celebrations in Colsterworth, we will be providing Ration Packs with based on a 1940's theme. (Vegitarian, Vegan & Dietary needs will be catered for upon request).

The team at the White Lion will be catering for your needs, with specialist "Ration Packs" based around a 1940's style menu but also offering vegetarian & vegan options.

Once you have purchased your tickets you will be allocated a Ration Card to present at the feeding station on the day where you will be allocated your food choice(s).

When purchasing your tickets you will be asked if you require standard, vegetarian or vegan options.

The bar will be fully stocked with beers, wine, lager, spirits, soft drinks and specialist cocktails will be available.

The ration stand will be open for all to hand over their ration cards to get their ration packs

We have a 40's WW2 style cabaret singer entertaining you from the White Lion car park balcony



We are lucky enough to view a flypast from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight



Raffle Draw

The hamper raffle draw will take place at the CFoR stand



For those who will continue the celebrations into the evening can enjoy a BBQ at back of the White Lion pub



Cry for Peace Around the World

A special international Cry for Peace Around the World will be led by the Rev Neil Griffiths


Ringing out for Peace

The White Lion pub and St. John the Baptist church bells will be rung in a collective celebration of peace



Evening Entertainment

The evening celebrations continue inside the White Lion pub

The Colsterworth cubs, beavers and brownies members will be collecting money throughout the day

VE Day Raffle

We will be raising money for the CFoR (Colsterworth Festival of Remembrance) and SSAFA charities on the VE Day 75th Anniversary. Details on the charity hamper will follow shortly.

Our last charity hamper raised over £1,400 - let's beat that this year.

  • Knitting/crocheting Poppies in Red, White & Blue
  • Donated Table Cloths in Red, White & Blue
  • Union Jacks flags - small & large
  • General on the day help to setup and next day to clear up
